What is Your Major Stress in Life?

What is your major stress in life? A few nights back, while queuing in a drive thru, my kids & I were talking about our personalities. We’re making fun of ourselves, and had a good laugh about it. On a serious side, I blurted out that I was a people pleaser. I wanted people to like me, and yes, it has been a major source of stress for me. It has been that way for me. I want to please my parents, siblings, teachers, classmates, bosses, co workers, hubby, kids, etc. I feel disappointment in myself, if I perceive that I don’t come up to their expectations. I feel ashamed of myself, if I deemed that I fail my children, whether imagined or not. These negative feeling does take a toll on my wellbeing. It took years learning this feeling of inadequacy, so it also took years to unlearn it. It is only through God’s mercy and love,  that I am able to accept myself, love myself. It is only through God’s unconditional love, that I am able to say, that  I  AM  ENOUGH.  I am a work in progress,

Life is Beautiful

Every moment in life is an act of faith.  -  Paolo Coelho

Life is beautiful.

It’s easy to say life is beautiful when everything is going great in our life. When it seems we are lying in a fragrant bed of roses. When we experience dark times in life, when we are in the desert, or agonizing in our  Garden of Gethsemane, can we still say life is beautiful?

In this phase of life,  we cling to someone we cannot see and hope for something that we direly desire. This desire brings us to the brink of despair. Despair, because we long for it, thirst for it, but still it seems unreachable.

In the darkness, a glimmer of light shines, a hand reaches out, grasps our weakling limbs, and pulls us out of the mire we deeply sunk in. Without an iota of doubt, that Supreme Being is God. God the merciful, compassionate God, our Lord and Savior.

While in the desert, He walks with us, giving us manna to sustain us. During terrible storms and darkness, He is in the middle urging us to be calm, stay put, and wait for the storm to end. In the depth of the deepest tunnel, a grey light will guide us where the deep blue skies and shining rays of the sun are waiting to greet us.

In our Garden of Gethsemane, He is there crying with us, for He knows what fear is. Christ showed the human side of Him. He prayed to God, remove this cup from me. At the same time, He surrendered everything to the will of His Father.

In our moment of sorrows, we should lift up all our worries, fears, sadness, and disappointments to God. But, we should not forget to surrender and accept the will of the Lord.

In our moments of despair, it is alright to need the presence of our loved ones. Jesus, brought with him his friends, and asked them to stay awake while praying.

Our journey in this life is a travail of happiness and sorrow.

It is a circle.

If we are in the bottom right now, we will also reach the top. It is worth waiting to receive the full glory of the plan of God for us.

Life is a season. If you are facing adversities and trials right now, it will pass. After winter, spring and summer will surely come.

Life is beautiful.

It can be beautiful through God’s grace, mercy, and unconditional love for us.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word, I hope.  - Psalm 130:5
